YOU are a CYNICAL bastard of an entrepreneur Gavin!
…but also right.
In the early days of hunting I went through at least 10 VA before getting one that was not bad. Time spent on Rentacoder = weeks, then time wasted training and money lost getting poor quality work I couldn’t use!
WARNING: for anyone who discovers www.TrafficAssistants.com they are a scam and a half. Absolute crap work they produce.
YOU are the No B.S. ticket in my book Gav!

Try sourcing a VA from the right places and no-one has to try 10 VAs before finding the right one. There are VA industry associations online - over 20 of them, and most of them provide a resource for clients to place a job request and suitable VAs respond to the request. The VAs registered with these organisations have true corporate background experience and are equipped to provide true PA support - not just website maintenance and research but much more than that. In fact, anything a corporate PA can do, so can a VA - except perhaps bring you your coffee.

I think you get what you pay for & when a professional is in need of a VA you shouldn’t have to wait.
Trust your associates and friends. Word of mouth works wonders - can’t imagine trusting just anyone with my bookkeeping, company image or client management.
Another aspect to look at when retaining a VA is how long has the company been in business, are they a leader in the industry and are they multi-skilled and able to handle all my your administrative needs?
Again, I think you get what you pay for - you pay peanuts - you get monkeys. (Like to give credit to who first said that but don’t know who)
