How my process works is…

WEBSITE REVIEW

I’ll need to take a quick look at your site and work out what needs to be done and give you an estimate of the cost, depending on what your budget is and what you are looking to achieve. I can tailor make a package to suit all requirements.

Here’s what I’ll be checking to make sure everything is set up OK and to identify the low hanging fruit.

WEB PAGE CODE

How your WEB PAGES are written (all the HTML goggledy gook behind the scenes) and where the keywords are showing up on your pages.

e.g. if you want to rank number 1 for ‘dog trainer’ then you need to have that in your page title and description and a few more times on the page. If ‘dog trainer’ is not in these positions Google punishes you for it as it will think your site is about something else.

KEYWORD RESEARCH

Research the keywords for your niche. What you might think is the term that a prospect might choose might not actually be the term that people are using, targeting the wrong word or variation can cost you lots of visitors.

ANALYSE COMPETING WEBSITES

We’ll need to check what we are up against, if your competition has put a lot of time and effort into SEO then if you want to overtake them you’ll have to do likewise. The reality is that in a lot of markets it should not be too hard to get number 1 rankings particularly if you are targeting within your local area or country.

INBOUND LINKS

How many links do you have coming into your site and where they are coming from. If you are a ‘dog trainer’ and you have a link from an authority site like Crufts or from other respected sites Google values those links and passes some of that credibility onto you.

Getting links from authority sites takes a bit of time and effort, however the rewards are well worth it and are necessary if you want to claim top spot and aim to stay there.
